Tournament Team Composition
● Two teams will compete, with an equal number of players: 20 players on Team Merah and 20 players on Team Putih.
● Garuda Golf Club USA will designate a captain for Team Merah and a captain for Team Putih. Captains will be responsible for lineups, pairings, and team strategy.
● Players may be selected through a draft, random draw, or by the captains based on playing ability to promote balanced competition.
● Team captains and lineups will be announced at a pre-tournament reception. Date and time: TBA.
Match Play Format
● The 2026 Ambassador Cup will use a Ryder Cup-style match play format, in which players or pairs compete to win individual holes rather than total strokes for the round.
● Two-Player Best Ball: Each player plays their own ball, and the better score of the two partners on each hole represents the team for that hole.
Scoring System
● Each match is worth one point. A tied (halved) match earns one-half point for each team.
● The team with the most points after all matches wins the Ambassador Cup.
● If the overall competition is tied, each captain will designate four players to participate in a putting playoff on the course’s practice putting green.
Match Play Rules
● Standard USGA match play rules will apply.
● Concessions of putts, holes, or matches are permitted in accordance with match play rules.
● If a player is late or unable to play, the match will be forfeited unless otherwise agreed by the team captains.
Handicaps
No handicap is required to participate in the 2026 Ambassador Cup.
Sportsmanship and Conduct
● Players are expected to respect opponents, officials, and the spirit of the game.
● Rules questions or disputes should be referred to the team captains for resolution.
● Unsportsmanlike conduct may result in loss of a hole or disqualification at the discretion of Garuda Golf Club officials.
